Advantages to use certified equipment


1. When any of the following radio equipment is in practical use, the certification is mandatory. However after the certificate has been granted, they become radio stations which do not require license.
Citizen radio, Cordless telephone, Specified low-power radio equipment, Low-power security radio, Low-power data communication system, Digital cordless telephone, PHS land mobile station, and Land mobile or testing station of dedicated short-range communications system

2. For other specified radio equipment than those in the item 1. above
2-1 Omission of pre-permit and inspection
Pre-permit and inspection after the completion of radio station are omitted if all of the radio equipments to be used are certified.

2-2 Simplified procedures of modification
Modification procedures are simplified for the following cases of "change of construction design" and "modification work" if all of the equipments to be used are certified.

1. Modification work to exchange a radio equipment with a certified one
[1] For the modification not to affect to class of emissions, antenna power or the other electric characteristics of the radio equipment, you are requested to submit a "Report"only.
[2] For other modification than the [1] above, you are requested to submit "Permission", but "Inspection after Modification" is omitted.

2. Change of construction design related to crystal units of certified equipment
In case that the frequencies of radio equipment certified as "frequency band" are changed in accordance with the change of frequency designation, you are requested to submit a "Report" only. For example, when a construction work is made to change the frequency from 460 MHz to 465 MHz by using radio equipment certified as 400-470 MHz frequency band, only the report is required.

Application of blanket license
When you use certified equipment only and the equipment satisfies the Article 15-3 of the Radio Law Enforcement Regulations, it is allowed to apply for blanket license as a specified radio station.
